Author Guidelines

1. General Standard Writing

1.1. Scripts are written in Indonesian or English.

1.2. Title, Abstract, and Keywords must be written in two languages (Indonesian and English).

1.3. Scripts are written in MS Word on A4 size paper, font Times New Roman (TNR) size 11, single space, the upper limit and the right of each is 2 cm, while the left and lower limits of each is 2.5 cm. The length of the manuscript is at least 2,000 words and not more than ten pages, not including appendices.

1.4. The use of terms outside the Indonesian or English are written in italics.

2. Writing Systematic Referring to the regulation of the Head of LIPI No. 04/E/2012 on Guidelines for Scientific Paper (Pedoman Karya Tulis Ilmiah).

3. How to Write the Title

3.1. The title reflects the essence of writing, small caps letters typed in bold, not exceeding 15 words, placed at the center, and written in TNR font 14, single space.

3.2. If the title is written in Indonesian, then below is rewritten in English, and vice versa. Small caps letters typed in bold, not exceeding 15 words, placed at the center, and written in TNR font 14, single space.

3.3. If the scientific papers are written in Indonesian, the English title is written in italics, while the Indonesian title is written not in italics, and vice versa. Exceptions to the writing of the Latin name using the sentence case.

4. How to Write Name and Address

4.1. The author's full name is typed under the title, without mentioning academic title, placed at the center, bold, using font TNR 11.

4.2. Address of the authors (name and address of the institution where they work) is fully written under the name of the author.

4.3. Email address is written under the author address.

4.4. If there are more than one addresses, it must be marked with an asterisk (*) followed by current address.

4.5. If the authors consist of more than one person, the conjunctive 'and' is used (not the symbol '&').

4.6. Postal address and email of the author is written using TNR font 10, single space.

5. How to Write Abstract and Keywords

5.1. Abstract is written in one paragraph, written in two languages (Indonesian and English), using font TNR 10, single space.

5.2. Abstract in Indonesian at most 250 words, while abstract in English at most 200 words.

5.3. Abstract position is based on the language used in the scientific paper. If the scientific paper is written in Indonesian, the precedence is English abstract is written in italics, while the abstract written in the Indonesian language is not in italics, and vice versa.

5.4. The word abstract is written in capital letters in bold.

5.5. Abstract in Indonesian is followed by keywords in Indonesian, while abstract in English is followed by keywords in English. Exceptions to the term outside Indonesian or English.

5.6. Keywords consist of three to six phrases.

6. How to Write the Chapter (Heading)

6.1. Heading level 1, written in the format: capital letters, left aligned, bold, TNR 11, single space.

6.2. Heading level 2, written in the format: capitalized each word case, left aligned, bold, TNR 11, single space.

6.3. Heading level 3, written in the format: sentence case, left aligned, bold, italic, TNR 11, single space.

6.4. Heading level 4, is not recommended.

7. How to Add Table

7.1. Title of the table is placed right above of the table, left aligned, use the font of TNR 10.

7.2. The word 'Table' and 'Number' is written in bold, while the title of the table is written normally.

7.3. Use Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, etc.) for the table's title numbering

7.4. The table is placed on the left of the page.

7.5. Type and font size for the contents of the table is using font Calibri 9-10, single space.

7.6. Inclusion of resources or information is placed at the bottom of the table, left aligned, italic, using font TNR 9.

8. How to Add Figures

8.1. Figures can be in the form of graphs, matrices, photographs, diagrams and the likes, placed in the middle of the page (centered).

8.2. Figure's title is written below the image, using TNR font 10, placed to the left side of the figure.

8.3. The word 'Figure' and 'Number' is written in bold, while the contents is written normally.

8.4. Use Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, etc.) for the figure's numbering.

8.5. Inclusion of resources or information is placed under the title of the figure, left aligned, italic, using font TNR 9.

8.6. Figure is in black and white .jpg or .tif file format, unless color determines meaning with its minimum resolution is 300 dpi.

9. Method of citation and bibliography is according to Chicago Manual Style (CMS), while the software can be chosen between Mendeley, MS Word references, or Zetero, etc.

10. The softcopy of the paper is sent to Widyariset website: http://widyariset.pusbindiklat.lipi.go.id/index.php/widyariset. The author should create a username and password for that process.

11. The template of the paper can be downloaded in http://widyariset.pusbindiklat.lipi.go.id/index.php/widyariset/about/submissions#onlineSubmissions.

12. Acceptance or rejection of the paper will be announced to the author via the website after the selection process conducted by Editorial Board and assessment process by peer reviewer.

13. The author is willing to revise the paper, and all of communication process is conducted via the website by using his/her username and password.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor it is before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Open Office, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. If it is available, URLs for the references should be provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which can be found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review must be followed.
  7. COPYRIGHT TRANSFER AGREEMENTS with IDR 6000 Stamp must be uploaded to this system on Supplementary Files Menu (Step 4)
  8. Author must upload ETHICAL STATEMENT and AUTHORSHIP AGREEMENT with IDR 6000 each to this system on Supplementary Files menu (Step 4)
